Meet Daren Meis

Daren is an elected Councilman on the Allen City Council, Place 1. He offers nearly 30 years of business experience, leadership and team-building experience in his willingness to serve Allen residents. While on the Allen City Council he has served as a member of the Finance/Audit Committee, the Nominating Committee, the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board and as the Council liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission. He is a former board member with the Collin County Conservative Republicans.

Daren is a 17-year resident of the Lone Star State, living in Allen since 2015. Upon graduation from Kansas State University’s aviation program in 1991, he worked as a flight instructor and charter pilot. Facing severe aviation industry headwinds he course corrected his career path and after 10 years in the consumer and commercial lending industry, Daren joined Copart in 2004. Copart is a provider of online vehicle auction and remarketing services in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Oman, Spain, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. He secures services and contracts with the auto insurance industry and manages a team of National Account Managers, Account Managers, and onsite customer support teams. Daren and his wife, Susan, have been married 15 years. Susan is in the cyber security space in the banking and insurance industry where she has previously served in V.P. roles at Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo.
